The Kings Theatre Courtyard is an ancillary space that has hosted red carpets, community events, sponsorship activations and more. For Kings Theatre's 95th anniversary, an art installation by Brooklyn-based artist Tom Fruin is currently on display for a limited time. 

You Will Clap Watertower

2024 12' H x 5' W x 5' D Steel and Plexiglass with Light We are pleased to present the latest piece in Fruin’s largest series of ICON works: The “You Will Clap Watertower” (2024) is the 10th piece in Tom Fruin’s wide-ranging series of full scale water tower sculptures permanently installed in California, Louisiana, Nebraska, Wisconsin, New York and Japan.  These works re-imagine commonplace urban structures into colorful kaleidoscopic beacons. This piece for Kings Theatre 95th anniversary takes its design inspiration from wristbands you might get while attending concerts at the venue. 

About Tom Fruin

Known for his large scale installations, Fruin most commonly uses steel and highly colored plexiglass to create monumental sculptures referencing local building structures. He describes his drive to make art that is publicly accessible, as well as sustainable by working with reclaimed materials and alternative energy. His large scale work has been exhibited in public plazas throughout the United States and Europe and Australia, Argentina, Japan, Korea and China.
